Elsa Bouzas

Born in Galicia, Spain in 2000.
Lives and studies in Santiago de Compostela.

I have always wanted to work in a lighthouse and watch sailors embark on long sea voyages. Some choose the profession out of love for the sea, others cannot stand the immobility of land. When ships leave the docks, dreams are born and die, and the chest vibrates like a lighthouse holding the courses. There are places that feel so close they end up living inside us,as if life passes between bodies looking for new forms of existence. I explore the interior landscapes as a social and cultural construction of the mind, intimately linked to identity, to the sense of belonging to a place and to justice, both social and ecological. I, who never wanted to be part of a static world, find myself seeking the winding and intersubjective paths of the earth.
